Smoking quit metabolism.

However, my metabolism still hasn't recovered. Researchers suggest that one of the reasons why smokers tend to put on some weight after quitting is because their metabolism slows down. So when you quit and your metabolism slows down, your body has these extra calories it has to deal. That's a healthy change. Smoking acts as an appetite suppressant and may slightly increase your metabolism as well. My wife and I have decided to quit smoking together. When smokers quit, metabolic rate quickly returns to normal. I'm 24 years old, and have ALWAYS had a very high metabolism.
